ORANGE CARAMEL

We dropped by Orange Caramel on a Monday at around 9pm and pretty much had the place to ourselves. There were two other people who left soon after our party arrived. I had heard about Orange Caramel’s tea selection and their parfaits so that was on order. In addition, we tried the sweet potato cheesecake and sweet potato pizza (cubed bread ‘crust’ with pizza topping sand slices of sweet potatoes, toasted). The menu also had ‘new additions’ of belgian and american waffles, topped with ice cream (choice of vanilla, strawberry or chocolate) and fruit. We went with the american with vanilla ice cream and strawberries.

The cheesecake was good, not too dense. I liked the novelty of the sweet potato pizza, and will be trying to replicate it at home. The waffle was pretty standard, not too sweet and a good texture.

For drinks, we tried the sweet potato latte (there was a theme), the pomegranate tea and chocolate monkey tea. It wasn’t the best sweet potato latte I’ve had, and they were out of a lot of other flavours that night. I would like to try their other lattes another day. Both teas were great, flavourful and each set came with a ‘perfect tea’ timer.

The service was great, we really felt comfortable being a little louder and the couch seating was cozy. Also, they have tiers of rewards, 5% off for liking them on Facebook, 10% off if you bring your receipt from a previous visit and a free drink with 5 receipts.
