The first location of Big Beef Bowl is a small shop in North York with only a handful of seats. Since opening, their popularity has only grown and every time I’ve passed by there’s usually a line with every seat occupied including their sidewalk patio. I love hand-pulled noodles, but with so many delicious restaurants nearby, I’ve been happy to satisfy my noodle cravings at either Artisan Noodle or Magic Noodle in order to avoid the queue. When I heard that Big Beef Bowl was opening a second, larger location in Markham, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a bowl. Since this visit, I’ve recommended them to family and friends and dropped by myself to slurp up a few more bowls.

Atmosphere: Big Beef Bowl’s second location was located in Peachtree Plaza, a strip mall full of great eats. As with any popular area in Markham, finding parking can be a challenge even in the large lot. The casual restaurant was simply decorated with booth seating along the walls in front of square wood tables. Seating on the other side were thin wood benches and the same were used at the tables in the middle of the room. Although busy during dinner, tables turned over quickly and most were filled with parties of 2 or 4.

Service: Being a more casual restaurant, service felt a bit rushed but efficient. Servers were flagged down as they delivered bowls to tables and hurried to take orders and wipe down tables. Our orders arrived quickly and the broth was piping hot. When larger groups arrived, tables were moved together to accommodate them and small children as well.

Food: The menu at Big Beef Bowl was simple with one page of noodle options and side dishes on the back. Bowls come in two sizes, small or large with a $1 difference in price. There were four signature noodles highlighted and selection of other classic flavours like lamb and intestine. With each order, the diner can choose between round or flat noodles in 3 thicknesses.

Stephen opted for the Braised Beef Brisket with Round Thick noodles while I stuck to the Classic Beef with Flat Thick noodles. We were both hungry that day and went with large bowls. To start, the large was a whole lot of noodle. Super filling but can feel endless if you have a smaller appetite. I loved the flavour of the clear broth, which was rich and savoury with a sprinkle of cilantro. It was quite salty and I had to guzzle lots of water after our meal. Both bowls were delicious.

My classic bowl came with a few thin slices of beef and daikon. Stephen’s braised beef brisket came with a slightly more substantial amount of meat versus mine. The toppings were fine, but not the highlight of the bowl. I was there for the broth and noodles, which totally satisfied. We had heard that thick noodles were the way to go and I was very happy with my choice. Both the round and flat noodles had a great chew but the round ones were more consistent throughout. With the flat noodle, the edges and some spots were a bit softer, but I loved the varying texture. Stephen prefers his noodles more al dente and the thick round ones were perfect for him.

Overall, Big Beef Bowl served up a delicious bowl of hand-pulled noodles at a super reasonable price. We didn’t get to try any side dishes this trip (um large bowl of carbs), but the noodles were more than enough to bring me back again and again.

Game of Cheese is a new restaurant in Markham from the mind of Chef Frank, head chef at Kaka All You Can Eat, featuring a menu of fusion dishes that stars, of course, cheese. When I first heard about the concept, I wasn’t sure what kind of cuisine to expect. Cheese boards? Fondues? Cheesecake? Luckily, I was invited to discover the menu for myself, which turned out to be a fusion of Japanese, French and Italian flavours.

Disclaimer: All food and drinks reviewed below were provided complimentary. All opinions expressed below are wholly mine.

Dinner began with a tall parfait each for Stephen and I. His had passionfruit, mine had mango and both were creamy and topped with a scoop of refreshing, incredibly tasty sorbet. I was so surprised with how much natural flavour was packed into the housemade dessert. Add in the textures of jelly, cream and fruit slush, this parfait was really good.

From the food menu, we started with an order of Baked mussels with cheese and mentaiko mayo. The melted cheese was gooey and the mayo had a generous amount of mentaiko adding lots of umami and seafood flavour to the meaty mussel. A touch of furikake added even more seasoning, making the dish addictive slurp after slurp.

Aside from appetizers, the other two main sections of the menu were pastas and pizzas. Stephen and I couldn’t resist the Black Truffle Carbonara Tagliatelle with smoked pancetta, plenty of parmesan cheese and tons of truffle. Topping the plate of creamy pasta was a poached egg with the perfect runny yolk. With so much earthy flavour from the truffle in the dish, I felt like the chunks of button mushrooms in the sauce weren’t needed and distracted a bit from the pasta. Priced at under $20, the plate was such a good value and made with good quality ingredients. For anyone who’s never tasted black truffle before, the Black Truffle Carbonara Tagliatelle would be a great initiation. For our pizza, Stephen and I tried the Seafood Pizza, which was loaded with salmon, scallops, and crab on a yuzu cream sauce base, and topped with wasabi mayo and tobiko. I found the pizza had a lot of potential but was actually overloaded with toppings and sauce. I really enjoyed the flavours but could have done without the salmon and perhaps only one sauce. Looking at the Game of Cheese menu on their website today, I couldn’t find this exact pizza listed. One thing I really respect is when a restaurant takes feedback from their diners seriously and continues to evolve their menu. Game of the Cheese is still a fairly new restaurant and it’s great to see Chef Frank refine and fine tune his dishes.

The dessert section was less cheesy but had a wide variety of items. I loved the Layered Creme Fraiche Panna Cotta with sake jelly, cherry blossom and a lychee raspberry compote. So so good. Getting a spoonful with each layer was sweet and tart, creamy and jelly. Topping all the layers was a scoop of Chef Frank’s delicious sorbet. This dessert may only be a seasonal item, I would say if it’s on the menu, get it! We also tried the Oreo Green Tea Cheesecake, which had a dense texture and a strong matcha flavour. If Chef Frank ever decided to open a dessert cafe, I’ll be there when the doors open!

A few weeks ago, Stephen and I met up with friends in Markham for an afternoon of board games. Before diving into hours of dice rolling and strategic meeple moves, we met up to grab brunch at Alchemy Coffee. The popular Unionville spot usually has a line out the door and I’ve heard great reviews about both their drinks and food menu. I was eager to try their version of my favourite brunch dishes, Fried Chicken and Waffles.

Atmosphere: Alchemy Coffee was a small shop located in a strip mall on Highway 7. Free parking was available but spots were limited. The restaurant was cozy with a rustic decor and felt more like a coffee shop than restaurant. Some diners lingered over mugs of coffee with a book while others just grabbed coffee to go. Bar seats lined the windows and one wall while the the rest of the dining room had square tables, which could be rearranged to fit any party size.

Service: Although there were tables, the coffee shop was self serve when it came to finding a seat. Our party of 5 ended up waiting for about 30 minutes with a few people in front of us. Luckily a table of 4 left as we were next in line and we were able to grab an extra chair. We placed our orders at the counter and once they were ready, each plate was brought to our table. Milk and sugar for coffees were set up at a self-service counter along the wall.

Food: Between the two of us, Stephen and I split the Fried Chicken and Waffles and Eggs Benny with Peameal Bacon. First the good, I really liked the eggs benny. The poached eggs had the perfect runny yolk and the hollandaise sauce was glossy and flavourful. A touch more sauce would’ve been nice. I also liked how crispy the house fries were and the seasoning on them.

As for the Chicken and Waffles, I felt like the thought behind the dish was great but the execution wasn’t. The plate came with three drumsticks, great I like dark meat, but they were small. A drumstick and thigh would’ve been much more appetizing. The batter on the chicken was also mildly seasoned and not all that crispy. Not bad, but not on par with other spots in the city. The waffles were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside, a good bite but I would have liked them to be a touch sweeter. A dallop of the spicy syrup served alongside was needed to add some dimension.

In addition to food, I had a flat white and Stephen opted for an americano. My drink was creamy and smooth. While some of the dishes were disappointing, Alchemy Coffee’s espresso drinks were very well made.

Royal Teahouse was one of the first dim sum spots in Markham that I ever visited and I still remember their adorable hedgehog buns. I went to high school in Mississauga and and never ventured into the York region until university, where I met a group of friends all from Markham. During summer breaks, I made the drive east every few weeks and I’d get a taste of what the suburb had to offer. Today, Stephen and I are in Markham often to see his parents or to eat. We re-visited Royal Teahouse recently in search of fluffy hedgehog buns.

Atmosphere: We arrived at the restaurant around 10am on a Saturday and the dining room was mostly full. Small and large round tables were full with families enjoying the weekend tradition of morning dim sum. Royal Teahouse is on the smaller side and we were worried about having to wait, but my in-laws were able to grab a table for us when they arrived. The decor is a on the more elegant side and up to date compared to similar spots in the neighbourhood.

Service: Orders at Royal Teahouse were placed using ordering sheets, the restaurant was not push cart style. I found the English translation of the dish names to be a bit confusing and Stephen and I would have struggled on our own without his parents. There also seemed to be a mix up in the kitchen as steamers kept arriving before we had even handed in our sheet. Fortunately, the mix up didn’t impact any of the dishes we did order and the servers were quick to handle each error.

Food: Between the four of us, we ordered 9 or 10 dishes. While the shrimp dumplings were plump, I found the skins a bit doughy and they stuck to the parchment paper. The bowl of congee was a good portion and I liked the consistency.

My favourite dishes were the rice rolls and chicken feet. A generous bowl of sauce was served with the rice rolls along with two dipping sauces. The wrapper was thin, had a great texture and the dough fritters inside were still crispy and airy. I really enjoyed the flavour of the chicken feet and the skin fell off of the bones. A few other dishes we tried were the turnip cake, not bad but underseasoned, short ribs, savoury and tender, steamed tripe, tender but again very underseasoned.

Our meal ended with leaky sand buns that were perfect. Overall, the food was ok. Some of the plates were good, others mediocre, but nothing stood out. Hedgehog buns were no longer available. Royal Teahouse offers special pricing on weekends from 9am-11am where all plates are priced at a small size when paying with cash.

Kinton’s latest location in Markham is their 7th outpost and the largest yet. Located on the corner of Highway 7 and Commerce Valley, the newest addition has all the earmarks of the popular ramen house from geometric wooden decor to black marble and wooden stools. I would guess the Markham Kinton to be 3-4 times larger than their usual layout with a mix of large tables and smaller two seaters. This would be the rare ramen shop that has the space to accommodate large groups. More importantly, this Kinton offers a selection of tapas from Kinka Izakaya’s menu as well! That is amazing. I stopped by during their soft opening to slurp up a hot bowl of noodles and munch on a few of my favourite izakaya items.

Disclaimer: All food and drinks reviewed below were provided complimentary. All opinions expressed below are wholly mine.

Stephen and I arrived at Kinton just after 8pm on Thursday and I was shocked at the line outside, especially considering the restaurant hadn’t even officially opened yet. That night the servers were clearly overwhelmed by the crowd and in fact, they weren’t even fully staffed yet. Once the wrinkles are ironed out I expect there will still be a wait for tables but more due to the volume of customers rather than waiting.

We started dinner with two bottles of Kinka Ramune, a sweet carbonated soda that has a special glass ball to create bubbles when “popped”. Launched in 2014, for each bottle of ramune sold at Kinka family restaurants, the company donated $0.50 to SickKids foundation. To date over $10,000 has been donated to the great cause. The Hubs spent a few months at SickKids when he was younger, so it’s a cause close to us that I happily support.

For ramen we went with our defaults, pork miso broth with thick noodle, topped with extra nori for him and a seasoned egg for me. I noticed that it was no longer an option to customize the level of fat (rich, etc) in the broth. Both our bowls came with one slice each of pork shoulder and pork belly. Usually, if Stephen’s hungry he’ll opt for the “extra” flavour (+$4.60), which comes with 3 times the meat topping, but with the extended tapas menu, I’d rather order a side dish. The ramen was on point with a rich, savoury broth and perfect chewy noodles.

Looking at the tapas menu, I really wanted to order everything. Most of the dishes are available all day, only a few are dinner only. 100% Kinka’s (and Kinton’s) Original Karaage is my favourite in the city. I pretty much always order this and the juicy, tender bites of fried chicken always satisfies. We also tried the Salmon Tataki, seared salmon sashimi with ponzu, wasabi mayo and fried slices of garlic. The dish was refreshing and had a great balance of sweet and sour flavours, a nice contrast to the the heavy ramen. Our last dish was the Ebi Mayo, a classic served with spicy mayo. I would also recommend the Gindara, Hokke, Kakimayo, Tuna Tartar and Tako Wasabi. Yes, I realize this is pretty much the entire menu. I always have a hard time narrowing down my order at Kinka as well.

Did anyone else think that spring had arrived earlier this week when temperatures hit 15℃? I did, and was quickly dissuaded with today’s -15℃ (feels like) forecast. Very very sad. The only silver lining of this frigid weather is an excuse to eat more hotpot. Although, I’ve been known to hotpot in the heat of summer with the help of air conditioning. Spicy Mafia is a neat concept from the owners of the popular hotpot chain, Morals Village Hotpot. The compact restaurant in Markham specializes in individual hotpots allowing diners to enjoy the satisfaction of a hot pot meal that’s not AYCE, with a more affordable price tag to match.

Disclaimer: All food and drinks reviewed below were provided complimentary. All opinions expressed below are wholly mine.

To avoid crowds, The Hubby and I stopped by Spicy Mafia just after lunch at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon. Besides us, only a few other tables were taken. The restaurant’s decor was modern with bright colours and a painted wall mural of a street scene and Chinese characters. With a long narrow layout, plenty of natural light streamed into the restaurant making for great photos. To drink, I ordered a Fresh Watermelon Juice ($4.99) that tasted exactly like a sweet, ripe watermelon in liquid form.

The menu at Spicy Mafia reminded me of custom noodle places where you choose a soup, pick a few toppings, and can add more items at an additional cost. There were 5 soup bases offered at Spicy Mafia including their signature spicy soup, homemade pork bone soup and a sweet tomato pork bone soup. Included in the base price ($12.99-$13.99), was a noodle, an order of meat (lamb, pork or angus beef slices), two dipping sauces and a variety of hot pot ingredients like red sausage, shrimp, tofu puff, napa, enoki and luncheon meat. Additional ingredients ranged from $1.50-$2.50 per order. The selection of optional ingredients were wide and a good serving size for the price.

Without adding any toppings, the Mini Hot Pot combo is a pretty good price and would be satisfying for me. I would have a hard time only picking two dipping sauces though, especially when coriander, spicy oil, garlic, sesame sauce are all separate options at $0.50 each after the first two free ones. If there was an option of a pre mixed “house dipping” sauce, I would lean towards ordering that. There was a good mix of protein and vegetables in the default toppings and the noodle went a long way to make the combo filling. However, for carnivores who hot pot mainly for meat, the four rolls of sliced meat will not be enough and adding many more orders of meat would add up quickly on the bill, defeating the whole purpose of not going for AYCE. For me, I’d add an order of watercress and maybe fish balls.

I made the mistake of cooking my rice noodles at the beginning of the meal, which soaked up a lot of the soup base and added starch to my pot, making the remaining broth thick and difficult to cook anything else in. This was my first time using a shallow pot to hotpot, and I felt like the soup boiled off quickly. The key was to space out adding in the ingredients. Servers walked around topping off pots with clear broth, which I was in dire need of. This also meant that the first few things I hot-potted was really spicy. Delicious, but the spice tapered off quickly.

We also tried a Fried Pork chop snack, which was juicy inside and crunchy outside. With a drink, two additional toppings and a snack, lunch at Spicy Mafia would total to just over $30 per person. I think the hot pot combo alone is a good value, but this can change quickly with the enticing add-on options.

Every year over the holidays, The Hubby and I stay with my in-laws in Markham for a few days while his siblings visit from out of town. During that time, we are always well fed with great home-cooked meals and visits to some of their favourite restaurants. This past holiday season, I heard about Ai Sushi, a new Japanese restaurant that opened just a few blocks from my in laws that was receiving great reviews. I mentioned the restaurant a few times during conversations and my mother-in-law was very much on board with picking up sushi platters for one of our lunches.

Atmosphere: Ai Sushi was located in a strip mall on the north east corner of 16th Ave. and Markham Rd. The restaurant was small with half of the space inside devoted to a sushi counter and the other half set up with 5 tables, each seating 4. Decor was modern with pot lights and bar stools. One wall was decorated with adorable chalk drawings of sushi and a lucky cat enjoying some nigiri. There were also a handful of lucky cat statues watching over the sushi counter. When we stopped by, there were only a few customers eating in but a queue of platters to be picked up.

Service: Based only on the pick-up experience, service was pretty straight forward. We called to place our order around 11:30am, asking to pick-up 30 minutes later. When we arrived, our order was prepped and packed on time and we checked out smoothly. The trays were packed securely with plenty of utensils, soy sauce and wasabi. I liked that the wasabi and soy sauce were in separate small containers, not on the tray themselves and not soy sauce packets. I would have like more pickled ginger, and will be asking for extra next time.

Food: To feed 5 people, we ordered two platters, 50 pieces of assorted sashimi ($48) and 60 pieces of assorted rolls ($38). There are also platters of assorted sashimi, sushi and rolls together in various sizes. I loved the sashimi platter for both the variety of fish included and quality. Making up the 50 pieces included 5 pieces of scallop and sweet shrimp, my two favourite types of sashimi. This was the first time I’ve seen both included in an assorted platter by default and so generously. There was also octopus, herring roe, tuna, yellowtail, surf clam and salmon. All of the fish was fresh and sweet. The octopus was tender and the salmon fatty. I was also happy with the size of each piece of sashimi, generous but still one (big) bite.

Moving onto the platter of assorted rolls, while good, couldn’t compare to the sashimi. I think the platter was necessary to make sure everyone was full, but in hindsight I would have ordered more sashimi. All of the rolls also used great quality fish and had an excellent rice to filling ratio. Included were rainbow rolls, a salmon avocado roll, a cucumber roll, california topped with tobiko, a shrimp roll topped with mayo, another topped with spicy mayo and one topped with tempura bits. For the price, it was a great deal and a decent variety. My favourite was the one topped with tempura bits and the unagi and cucumber one. I did feel like the cucumber roll was bit of a filler, but even then, the platter was a good value.

Overall, I really enjoyed our meal from Ai Sushi and am looking forward to trying out their chirashi bowls in the near future. I have high hopes for them maintaining their current level of quality and value. Note that when I visited, only cash was accepted.

I have a soft spot of Hong Kong cafes, especially macaroni with spam. For me, the simple bowl of noodles and broth is quintessential comfort food. This meant that even though we went to Cafe Hollywood for their chicken wings, I couldn’t resist the $5.99 All Day Breakfast.

Atmosphere: The restaurant decor was true to theme with life-size Oscar statues and framed movie posters covering the walls. I was reminded of Hard Rock Cafe. Compared to other Hong Kong cafes, the interior was more modern and thoughtful, but the furniture was beginning to show age.

Service: Most Hong Kong cafes offer minimum but very efficient service and my expectations are quite low. Cafe Hollywood did not even meet the low bar. Service was disorganized. Each server was responsible for every task from clearing tables to taking orders, which is a normal setup, but this translated to servers being distracted by tasks without any system of prioritization. We waited to be seated, even though several tables were empty. It was also difficult to get anyone’s attention.

Food: Despite the less than stellar service, I really liked the food. Since I couldn’t resist breakfast, The Hubby and I split a bowl of Macaroni topped with two slices of Luncheon Meat, which came with a bun, two eggs and a slice of deli ham. I asked for my eggs sunny side up, and they were a touch undercooked. The bowl was filled with noodles and had a good amount of corn, peas and carrots as well. The texture of the macaroni was on the softer side, perfect for the dish, and the broth was lightly seasoned without being salty.

The main reason we visited Cafe Hollywood was for their happy hour wing special, 20 pcs for just $16.99 from 1pm to closing. We ordered one basket HK Style, a simple salt and pepper and another Pepper Chilli. Each basket comes with fries and a bowl of thick brown gravy. The wings were lightly battered, crispy and not oily. The seasoning was flavorful, not overpowering, and each wing was juicy inside. Really good. With the pepper chilli, the topping was a lot of minced garlic with black pepper, so order only if you’re ok with having strong garlic breath after.

Overall, the wings at Cafe Hollywood redeemed the meal. I’ll be back, but my heart still belongs to Phoenix.

My husband grew up in Markham, went to high school in Markham and went to university in Toronto with a big group of his high school friends. Many of these friends still live in Markham today and whenever there’s a gathering, it’s often uptown. This is even more true now that babies have been added to the guestlist. Last summer, one of our friends who had been working in Hong Kong was back in town visiting, which prompted a large group dinner. His only restaurant request was non-asian. WIth this criteria and the size of our group, we picked Tapagria for dinner based on their positive reviews and tapas style menu. Overall, although atmosphere and service were excellent, I found the food fairly disappointing.

Atmosphere: Our group was set up in the small private room of the restaurant, which was richly decorated, but did not have any natural light. The room had one long table, small chandeliers, a navy and gold brocade wallpaper and white wall moulding. We were separated from the rest of the restaurant and could move around, switch seats and chat without worrying about disturbing other diners. In terms of privacy and a luxe feel, the private room at Tapagria was perfect.

Service: For large groups, an automatic gratuity of 18% is included in the bill. A few servers took care of our group and were all friendly and professional. As people trickled into the room, everyone’s drink orders were taken and we separated our order into four groups. The restaurant was very accommodating for separate bills and keep trying of complicated orders. I did find that dishes arrived from the kitchen in batches, which led to people who ordered similar items eating first while others waited.

Food: The Hubs and I decided to order a few Tapas dishes just for the two of us, which in hindsight limited the number of dishes we could try. For the two of us, we ordered 5 dishes that totaled to $60/person and was not filling. A few of these dishes had more expensive ingredients but I wasn’t quite satisfied with quality or quantity for the price.

From the Pintxos section of the menu, we tried the Smoked Eggplant ($5), a spread served on two slices of baguette. I liked the flavour of the eggplant and the textures. Next to arrive was the seared Foie Gras ($22). For the price, the piece of foie gras was a good portion and excellently seared. At this point, I still had high hopes for dinner after the first two bites, but we hit a few speed bumps with our seafood dishes. Both the Scallop Ceviche ($16) and Octopus Leg ($15) were disappointing from portion size to flavour. The scallops were sliced paper thin and lightly seasoned with olive oil and spices. I couldn’t really taste the scallop, there was so little with each bite. As for the octopus, the texture was gummy and inconsistent. I’ve tried similar dishes at other Spanish restaurants in Toronto that were better executed.

Our last dish was the Roasted Bone Marrow ($18) and this was my favourite plate of the night. There was a good amount of marrow in each bone and served on a bed of crostini. I would’ve liked a little bowl of sea salt to season each bite myself.

While we skipped out on the Paella, which takes 45 minutes to prepare, there were orders at our table and I got to try a few bites. Of what I tasted, I found the seasoning heavy handed. Another dish my friends ordered that looked good was the Artisanal Meat Board. I do think I would’ve enjoyed dinner more if we had ordered different menu items, but from this experience alone, I wasn’t a fan.

Tendou Matcha and Dessert is a relatively new cafe in Markham that has quickly gained popularity for their premium matcha soft serve ice cream and drinks. Using high quality matcha powder imported directed from Japan, Tendou’s desserts have a strong natural flavour and mild sweetness, letting the matcha shine. Although I crave ice cream year round, not everyone feels the same. As temperatures outside cool, Tendou’s menu has expanded to unveil a host of new desserts that feature more Japanese flavours, which will surely keep them busy through the fall and winter season.

Disclaimer: All food and drinks reviewed below were provided complimentary. All opinions expressed below are wholly mine.

At the media preview for Tendou’s Fall Menu I had the chance to chat with Rylen, the owner of Tendou, and learn about the different grades of matcha powder. Similar to coffee beans, based on the origin and grade (from food to ceremonial), cost and taste of matcha varies greatly. Tendou only uses matcha sourced from the south of Japan, which was vibrantly green in colour.

I tasted 4 matcha desserts that night, the mille crepe, cream puff, fruit tart and opera cake. Everything about the cream puff was perfect. Filled with an airy matcha flavoured cream, the cream puff was flakey with a cookie crisp topping that created a very satisfying contrast in textures. All three of the cream puffs we tried that night were phenomenal. The opera cake had layers of matcha sponge cake that was fluffy and lightly sweet. Rylen’s goal was to bring out the natural flavour of the ingredients without overpowering them with sugar, a goal I think he was successful in. When it came to the mille crepe, I enjoyed the flavours of the matcha, which was consistent throughout the evening, however the ratio of cream to crepe leaned too much towards cream for me.

The two black sesame desserts featured were the mille crepe and cream puff. Similar to the matcha flavoured desserts, the black sesame cream puff was delicious. The cream of both items had such a strong black sesame flavour that it tasted almost nutty. We also tried a Hokkaido Milk cream puff and Hokkaido Milk fruit tart. This was my first time tasting Hokkaido milk, which has 3.6% fat content, and the flavour was incredibly rich and milky. I would love to see this Japanese flavour be the next trend in Toronto.

Apart from the three main flavours, we also tried Tendou’s Tofu Cheesecake and The Hubby promptly fell in love. The cake had a mild cheese strong tofu flavour, reminiscent of tofu flower dessert. In fact, The Hubby liked the cake so much, he requested a full size cake for his birthday this year. I was lucky Rylen was able to fill my order.
